    Great video as always, one problem. I noticed that if the pushing animation goes trough, as in if there is space for the cube to be pushed. While in the pushing animation the cube is able to go trough other objects. Have I made an mistake somewhere ?

    I ran in some trouble... every thing works except for the text which wont show up. i manually set the "in Text" to a variable and typed in "test" at the "Create W Quest Notification Widget" and this worked but for some reason it wont take the value from my "FObjectiveDetails". Does any one knows a solution to that? Tanks in advance.

      I also dont think it has any thing to do with the "FobjectiveDetails" since it delivers the value from "Quantity" like it should. (I also checked already if i left the "Description" part empty by accident but it has the text like in Ryans video.)

    First I'd like to say that if you're having the "characters are now facing backwards in lobby" issue, the solution provided by PaulPaulPaulson is exactly the fix. You only need to do this in the LobbyController. No other controller will need it. For anyone else who has the issue where, upon starting the match, the camera is just looking at the sky and the character is uncontrollable/doesn't spawn in, here's the fix I found. Disclaimer that I may have forgotten or missed some part of the video that covered some of these steps, and I haven't watched any video past this yet that may have resolved this issue. 1. If you haven't already completed this while following along with the video, create the CustomPlayerController shown in the video (with the exception of the existing code he doesn't review, since that's for a different series) and follow along with the steps he gives for the task in this video. 2. Additionally, if you haven't already done so earlier in this series, create the MainMenuGameMode. You don't have to put anything in it since the defaults will work just fine, including the default PlayerController. Technically he only does this earlier in the series to override a game mode from a different series, but here, it's essentially acting as an unmodified ThirdPersonGameMode. 3. Open the MainMenu map and set the GameMode Override to the MainMenuGameMode. 4. Open ThirdPersonGameMode Class Defaults and set the Player Controller Class to the CustomPlayerController. Initially I had written that you'd have to set the GameMode Override on each of the play maps (i.e., Map1, etc) to the ThirdPersonGameMode, but this doesn't appear to be necessary so long as the ThirdPersonGameMode is set as the default GameMode in your project settings. In this case, ThirdPersonGameMode (and thus, the CustomPlayerController) is automatically set as the GameMode for any map without an override. You should now be able to spawn, play, and see the characters in the map like before, but with the new character meshes like this video demonstrates.

    I'm trying to make a character select screen for a video and not a game, my plan is to green screen some people and use them for the character select screen. A.     One thing that would be great to know is how to make an NPC both a goal AND a quest giver. I have a character that needs to be spoken to in order to complete another goal, but she herself must be spoken to in order to get another quest.

    worked for me. however every time I reopen this project, something new seems to be broken. :D last time the target list didn't fill up anymore so I couldn't attack. this time, neither attack or magic calls any menu. no idea what I've done. I could confirm this working on the spiders attack at least.

    Great tutorial. But what if you want a kind of glide that has a constant descend rate? With gravity you’re accelerating down so descend rate increases even if slowly.

    For those wanting to directly control how many seconds in each day, you can plug in a variable "Seconds in Day" to the division node, so it's 1 divided by x number of seconds before connecting to the new rate. This seems to work for me right now as I am not wanting my day cycle to be super accurate with sun movements etc :)

    Great Video tutorial series - everything still working fine on UE 5.4. If you are having the issue that the character moves in Inventory Menu (this happens if you press "w"-key for walking and parallel the Tab-Key to open Inventory), you can open your character BP, go to InputAction of your PlayerInventory -> Go to "Set Input Mode UI Only"-Node and select "Flush Input". This worked for me. I don't know whether I just missed it in Ryan's tutorial, but hopes that this will help :)

    i found a faster solution to that current filter path, if filter is empty.... You probably add to the enum a param called "None" and in the filter item function you add an or statement to the filtering :) The default value of the currentfilter is set to "None"

    One thing that would be great to know is how to have the quest window appear after some dialogue. I have it set up that I can have a dialogue system with characters, and it would be great for the quest to ONLY appear after conversing with them, as it makes more sense.

    FOR ANYONE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE NEW INPUT SETUP, INSTEAD OF GOING TO PROJECT SETTINGS AND INPUT: within your folders, you should see FirstPerson > Input, inside of the Actions folder, create an Input Action, then go back up to the Input folder and open up IMC_Default. You'll add the action input to your mappings, set the keys you want. And then just follow along like normal with the video. Key note also, EnhancedInputAction has more stuff to pull off of it, "Started" will be your "Pressed" and "Completed" will be your "Released"

    If you're having the issue where you cant drag an item onto the first slot without moving it somewhere else first, what fixed it for me was this: Go to your InventorySlot widget and in the OnDrop function, make sure both nodes going into the OR Boolean are set to NOT equal. One of mine was set to equal. Not sure if this is anyone else problem, but if so, hope it helps

    FOR EVERYONE WITH TEXT THAT EXCEEDS THE LENGTH OF THE VERTICAL BOX!!! - Go to your W_QuestLogEntry_Object widget, click on the TXT_Description Variable, search wrapping, and where it says "Wrap Text At" put in the number 320. this should solve the issue assuming your text size is 16. :)

    if you are having issues with not getting the green sphere. 1. go to your player Character / BP 2. add AIPerceptionStimluiSource then in details check the "Auto Register as Source" box and add AISense_Sight array element right below.

    @3:45 when I changed the variable type, I got an error message and a bunch of items loading. Then when I switched to the new player controller we just made, when I push play my game no longer works. There's no hand, no interact with the object, I can't pick it up, and no inventory screen when I hit "I." I'm guessing it's a different version but I can't really continue unless I can get this part to work. =/

    This set of widget tutorials has been very useful, thanks! Do you know if its possible to add a colour change in the animation (e.g. the square starts as white and ends as red), but as a variable like the text in your example, so that each instance could have a different colour set on it?

    If anyone is having troubles making the FirstPersonArms update into the holding weapon stance. You need to go into the variables on the animation blueprint that is attached to the first person character. Set the bool to true for has weapon and then the arms should update. Hope this helps if anyone needs it :)
